I'm a Pittsburgh mom, I've had 3 senior students (one a boy) and this year marks my fourth senior! I know how fast the senior year flies by. Between sports, college tours, and graduation prep, things will be busier than they have ever been! Then add things like the emotional stress of your families impending changes.. and the LAST time your family will be together for  ordinary day to day life moments... That’s why if your son is graduating in spring in less than a year, now is the time to book his senior photo session—especially if you want a meaningful, stress-free, and fully customized experience. Here’s why:


1. The Best Dates Go Fast
By late summer, many senior photographers in Pittsburgh are booked solid—especially for golden hour sessions or weekends. If you wait, you may miss out on the perfect date that works with your son’s packed schedule.

2. He’ll Look & Feel His Best in Warmer Months
Let’s be honest: Pittsburgh weather in late fall can be unpredictable at best and NASTY when it really settles in. Boy's care about their summer tan, I have found just as much as girls. Booking in summer means bright skies, greenery, and your son feeling relaxed and confident in short sleeves—without freezing when he changes his fit.

3. He's probably not going to ask...
When it comes down to it, your son is a typical male. I have three sons, one has graduated and moved out. None of them have "senior photos" on their radar.. But let me tell you once their friends start to post their photos, their interest peaks. They will not only appreciate.  

4. Senior Guys Are Busy—Really Busy!
From sports and school to part-time jobs and college prep, senior year moves incredibly fast. Locking in a date now helps you plan around his commitments, not stress over last-minute availability. All the best photographers sell most of their sessions in later summer. So even if you want a fall day, you're going to want to secure it now- while the good photographers have  availability.

I've had session's with over 50 boys in the last 5 years and all of them have found more don't them one photo that they were proud was hanging in their home, when they come back to visit!
