A Night to Shine!
Oh what a wonderful night! Last February I was asked to shoot an event at Northway Christian Community Sewickley Valley Church. Before I was asked to help, I had never actually heard of A Night to Shine.
I did a little googling on this fun and uplifting event that is put on as a “Prom” experience for teens and young adults by the Tim Tebow Foundation. Prior to covid times this super fun event took place all over the world on a night in early spring (normally near Valentines day.) It is normally held in local churches and is all volunteer lead and run. Each community that takes on this event gets funding for it from the TTF as well as planning and advertising to get the word out in the local community. You can read about this global event HERE.
This year The Night to Shine Pittsburgh will be held on February 10 from 7 to 9pm. It will be a fully indoors event (unlike the drive though versions offered the last two years during covid): with live music and dancing as well as snacks and photos and a red carpet: all the fun things just like a prom experience. This event will again be hosted by Northway and held at the Sewickley Valley location. If you would love to attend this event: or know someone who would, or have a community of young adults who would love it You can register for it HERE.
If you are wanting to help out in this 100% volunteer event you can do so though this LINK.
I will be there again photographing this event and will share all of my photos with the kids who come though a private link. I’m super excited to be able to capture this event in the way it was intended to be: a prom like experience where we all just get to love on the special needs community, and give them an experience that they will never forget!
I can’t wait to see all of you there, it’s going to be an epic “Night to Shine”!
