Henry’s Place- EsMark Field in Sewickley PA
There is something special about having your senior pictures taken at a place where you feel most at home! Your son probably won’t mention Senior photos to you this spring, but trust me, as a mother of boys-
- He will care.
- He will want a say in his portraits!
- He’ll just need a gentle push when it comes to getting them onto a photographer’s calendar!
Henry is a senior at Quaker Valley High School, and for him, that place is the baseball field. We shot the the majority of his senior portraits at Esmark Field in Sewickley, Pennsylvania — the place where he has spent countless hours doing what he loves most.
For a lot of boys this will be the first time in front of the camera. There are lots of things about photo sessions that are intimidating. It helps having a photographer who can keep it relaxed but also plan something that he’ll really enjoy. My goal for every senior portrait session is for the student to love their final images. I’m always up for a challenge when it comes to my male client’s finding out the places and vibe that they want for their session. It’s the thing that helps them “buy in”, have a good time and love the results! If you’d like to read more about boys and senior photos hit this link!

For Henry this was the perfect spot because at the ballpark he feels most relaxed natural and completely himself.
From the dugout to the field, every image showed his connection to the place and to the game of baseball. Baseball isn’t just something he does — it’s part of who he is. When you are planning your senior portraits make sure that at least one of your locations has a deep meaningful connection to you as a person. It’s not always a sport, it may be as simple as your favorite park or your favorite place to think walk sit relax or play. The point for me is your epic senior photography session should showcase your personality in places that are very meaningful to you!

Momma’s Place
After finishing at the field, we met up with his family at Sewickley Heights Borough Park because mom needed updated family portraits. It was incredibly meaningful to photograph the whole family together — especially since I had the honor of working with Henry’s older sister for her senior portraits in 2024. Something that comes up again and again during senior year is the desire to want a fresh family photo before the kids leave home! I offer family portraits either on the day of the senior session or a few times through the school year through what I call Pop-ins.

Senior year is over before you know it. You will never regret having that last whole family portrait hanging in your home!
Henry, it was a pleasure working with you and your family! Thank you for letting me capture this final high school season — at the ballpark and beyond!
