As soon as I spoke with Kaelen and her mom I knew they were going to be fun to work with! You just get that vibe when you’re in the booking process. Kaelen wanted the beauty of north park in the fall, and her mom was really wanting photos in the stone structured garden and melon Park. It was funny because they both had very specific vibes that they wanted for their senior photos so we started planning Kaelen’s epic session at North Park and Mellon Park.

A Golden Fall Afternoon at North Park

We began at North Park on one of those dreamy fall afternoons Pittsburgh does so well. The trees were glowing. The air was crisp but comfortable. The light filtered through the leaves in that soft golden way that makes everything feel magical. Let’s not forget about that beautiful lake guys it glistens in the fall.. If you ever have no idea where to have your senior portraits taken and you don’t want to travel all the way to the lake at Moraine, North Park is perfect!

Each complete outfit felt intentional. Nothing random. Instead, everything felt elevated and timeless — which is exactly what makes senior portraits feel high-end and lasting. Fun fact- several pieces that she had ordered did not come in so she had to make some last-minute decisions on style. Keep this in mind when you’re planning your outfits for your senior shoot. Make sure you order all of your clothing and give space for at least a couple of weeks prior to your shoot date in case you need to switch things out re-order other sizes etc.

After soaking in the fall glow at North Park, we headed into the city to the stone garden at Mellon Park run by Phipps Conservatory.
