Uniquely You; after Sundown.

Hi to all the amazing and unique high school students!

Senior Pictures can be intimidating and stressful. I have both guys and girls who just “don’t want to be into: getting their pictures taken”. I get it. It’s something most people haven’t ever done anything like before. You have your worries, and frankly it doesn’t sound like it’s going to be fun: I’d love to ease some of that stress right now.

I am an artistic photographer. I love people and I think every person is a legit piece of artwork, exactly how they are.

How do I bring you and your image into something you will also consider art? I just in need my artist eye, some time of you in front of my camera lens, some amazing back drops where your personality can shine though, and some amazing editing.

It’s a process, we do it together, and I promise it’s not as painful as you might think: I am actually pretty confident in the end you will have fun!

I loved working with Anna and her Mom. I have worked with all the different types of senior students in the past. Anna was a straight forward: no thrills: kinda lady. But most importantly she was open minded, flexible and open to try new things. She is super sweet and I really enjoyed our time together. I think all of her photos are so beautiful and show her personality.

We headed out a bit later then planned due to a crazy hard rainstorm that hit Sewickley right when we would have originally planned to start. When your session comes we really watch the weather and communicate. I have had to postpone sessions, reschedule partial sessions and start later than planned because it rains a lot here in Pittsburgh.

“A.” wasn’t a “hair and makeup”, “6 outfit changes” type of girl: she knew what she wanted to highlight and wore only two outfits. She wanted to be represented as natural, and she loves our village. The beauty she is inside and outside shown though.

Because of the happenstance of us starting our session later, We got to shoot night photos in the village of Sewickley. Originally a sun setting plan in the village turned to a night session with the flexible nature of A and her mom. I was excited when I saw what some of the shots looked like and as I always do shared them with A. She loved them: we were all hooked, all of our favorites from this session came after the sun set on the village.

There is something so unique and beautiful about dusk and night photography. I offer it to all of my clients and truly enjoy the challenge and the results of it. Mid-Late summer would be the perfect time to have a session in the Sewickley Village like Anna’s.
