If you're dreaming of beautiful lake views for your senior pictures, Moraine State Park is in my opinion your best choice near Pittsburgh! Known for its wide-open spaces, peaceful shoreline, and stunning sunsets, Moraine is the only real lake location within an hour of the city where you can capture authentic, artistic senior portraits, which you know are my favorite type!

Many of my students and their mamas, love the idea of including a peaceful water element in their photos—but in Pittsburgh, true lakefront options are limited. Sure you can head over to North Park, but you don't get the true feeling of a vast body of water unless you make the drive. That’s why Moraine State Park has become such a popular spot for Senior Pictures and all types of shoots near the city.

The park offers:

🌳A gorgeous 3,225-acre lake surrounded by low rolling hills and trees which is the perfect peaceful backdrop.

🌅Sunset views that create glowing, natural light perfect for your senior who loves those bright sunset skies.

🌾A mix of a rocky "beach", Tall grassy reeds, a large rock built peer, and a  simple dock areas for lots of variety in your finished images.

🪨Plenty of space for everyone who comes to the park to have nice views of the water and surrounding area without navigating crowds like you would at North park.

Moraine State Park Is Worth the Drive- BUT
you don't have to make the trek (50 minutes north of downtown Pittsburgh), during you student's Epic session.

This year in September, I will be taking a group of 6 student's to the park. We will do a group POP-in that will have transportation from the village of Sewickley! Each student will have 5 portraits taken at the lake in my favorite locations! You don't want to miss out on my pop-in session this year!
