So neither of you really want anything spectacular and big… And you definitely want to be together!
These sisters, both graduating from Sewickley Academy, chose to document this once-in-a-lifetime senior season together—and it was perfect for their family. They have their own personalities of course but they have that amazing sister connection that we definitely want documented during their time together. .
We headed to one of my favorite historical sites north of the city for our first stop. The vibes at Hartwood acres mansion or something both girls really want to include in their session!
Hartwood Acres Mansion | Classic and timeless
We started their senior photo session at Hartwood Acres, one of my absolute favorite locations just outside of Pittsburgh. What I love most about this space
- The stone architecture of this antique building.
- The beautiful glass in every window reflecting the woods around the building.
- The stone archways and pathways, the hard-scapes here are just as good as the green-scapes.
- the beautiful gated flower garden and the trees and hills alongside the mansion itself!
Hartwood gave us the perfect mix of classic & elevated portraits and room for each girl to stand out and shine individually.
They moved together with such ease. Some moments were styled and intentional, others were just them laughing, leaning into each other, being sisters. The later are always the one’s moms end up loving the most. Capturing this fun duo was a blast!
Sewickley Parks, because where you grew up, is super important.
From there, we headed into Sewickley because these girls have lived there a long time and there are places in town that serve a lot of sentimental value to the family.
At Sewickley Heights Borough Park, we commune with the beautiful early fall natural vibes! The light filtered through the tall pines trees, the flowers were just starting to show off. There is nothing quite like the park you used to walk in as a kid to bring out your personality during your session!
We created space for each of them to have their own moment—quiet, confident, completely themselves. And then we layered in movement, laughter, and those in-between moments that never feel forced.
Some of my favorite images from the entire day happened right here… the black and white ones especially. These girls have such a fun relationship and demanded that they did a piggyback run and spin on the pathway at the park! We laughed so much and created some beautiful images! Connection and joy are key, and easy to capture when your subjects have such a close relationship.
The Iconic Sewickley Bridge | at Sunset
We ended the girl’s session right in town, next to the glowing Ohio River with the Sewickley Bridge in the background.
This Pier and it’s location happen to be one of my best kept secrets for iconic shots in this area! This stop is a quick final add on to any epic senior session! (It is also unique enough with its tracks and park, that we can use it as a “on-stop” for your senior session if the hours of driving sound too tedious.

I love working with seniors around the city of Pittsburgh but something about shooting right in my home town always hit’s differently.

Every Family is different, I’ve had twins book separate days & I’ve had them share! It really is about what is best for your family. It’s also about capturing final photos that your mom/ moms want to hang in their homes!
