Blue Bridges

I love it when senior’s want to try unique and new things! It is super fun for me to shoot at a location for the first time. Some may find this stressful, but I love it. It feels like a time where I can let my creativity have free range. I get excited when I get to look for new lines and places to frame up my subject. (Yes I know, I’m a photography geek)

Zach and his momma were a joy to work with. Zach has a great sense of humor, a laid back attitude, and is open to trying new and unique places.

We had a brief stop in the village at the Saint Stephen’s Church because it is a place that is very important to Zach and his families lives. When you take your survey think about some of the places in and around Pittsburgh that have played an important role, or mean something significant to you personally for at least one backdrop to your senior session. The church is an iconic building in Sewickley and offers some beautiful and interesting backgrounds.

I’m a sucker for those archers.

We headed down to the city and went to the South Side area near the Smithfield Street Bridge.

I shoot the Yellow Bridges of Pittsburgh all the time, so I was excited to be on this iconic bridge in a different part of town to capture the city from a different vantage point. Nearly all of my favorite photos from Zach session came from the bridge!

Zach is super interested in engineering and maybe city planning or even transportation. This unique bridge was a perfect way to represent Pittsburgh as well as his passions and possibly future career.

Zach was super interested in some “after dark” city shots as well, so we finished up our session in a new location called “The Terminal”. Behind the Strip District where all of the old fruit markets used to be; has been recently renovated and offers a cooly lit evening promenade. I am certain that when the downtown commerce picks back up these stores will be occupied with hip boutiques and trendy restaurants.

The last photo was actually taken in an iconic Pittsburgh alley referred to as “Old Economy Way”.

It was truly my pleasure getting to know Zach. I can’t wait to shoot in some of these unique locations in the future!

Cheers!
